MODEST MOUSE

Let me say a couple of random things to put this cupcake under your tongue, and to further validate your pre-conceived notions that all indie rock bands are basically the same. Obviously, they're from the northwest, and obviously the town they're from is a suburb of Seattle, Washington. They took Smiths' guitarist and Black Heart Procession's drummer and then a couple of other people that nobody really cares about. But there's really nothing that interesting about the history of this band, other than that they got their band name from a passage in a Virginia Woolf story: "I wish I could hit upon a pleasant track of thought, a track indirectly reflecting credit upon myself, for those are the pleasantest thoughts, and very frequent even in the minds of modest, mouse-coloured people, who believe genuinely that they dislike to hear their own praises." I'm pretty indifferent about Virginia Woolf. She killed herself, you know. What a wookie. Virginia Woolf sucks. Don't read her.
